About the name:

Michael Faraday is often referred to as one of the greatest experimental physicists ever, but many (including James Clerk Maxwell) considered him to be one of the greatest theoretical physicists, as well.

The SI unit for capacitance (i.e., the "farad") and the term "Faradic interactions" reflect the continuing relevance of some of his fundamental work to even the most modern aspects of supercapacitors and batteries. Faraday saw that electricity and magnetism were two sides of the same coin, and he saw that somehow this is what light is made of -- years before he helped prove these amazing facts.

We intend to honor him in every aspect of our LLC's work.
